Suzhou Industrial Park Foreign Language School (SIPFLS) is a private international K-12 school located in the city of Suzhou, about half an hour by train northwest of Shanghai. Built in 2011, the 12-acre campus offers kindergarten, primary, junior high, high school, and GAC Foundation programs to boarding and day students. The school’s philosophy combines both Asian and Western education theories, and Chinese and foreign students are all welcome to attend.
Suzhou (formerly anglicized as Soochow) has existed as a city since 514 BC, and now has a population of 10.6 million people. The city is also known as the “Venice of the East” because of its numerous canals. Furthermore, Suzhou’s gardens are some of the most famous in China, and the ensemble of The Classical Gardens of Suzhou was added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.
