The establishment of Guangzhou Xiang Jiang International High School (XJIHS), with its vertically-aligned Advanced Placement curriculum, including the College Board’s new AP Capstone Diploma Program, has been a significant achievement for the Board of Directors of Xiang Jiang High School.
XJIHS is a private boarding school established in 2008. It is located about 20 miles (30 km) away from downtown Guangzhou on Jade-Green Island, an attractive residential area. The international high school shares a campus with a Chinese middle and high school, which currently have more than 150 teachers and staff members serving approximately 1,600 middle and high school students. The campus covers an area of more than 100 acres, with a variety of facilities and advanced equipment. The International School will be completely renovated this summer and all academic and support programs consolidated into a single, independent facility.
XJIHS is proud of their rigorous curriculum, teacher-advisory system, in-house TOEFL, SAT, and college counseling programs, and their strong international exchange relationships with top-ranked American high schools though collaboration with SPIRAL International. XJIHS ensures that each student will be enrolled in a well-known overseas higher education institution upon graduation. All the students in the Class of 2018 were accepted by top 100 U.S. colleges and universities, and 78% of them got into one of the top 50 U.S. colleges.
