Connecting Classrooms: CGS Students Launch Language Learning Partnership with Communication University of China

Through SPIRAL International, students from the Center for Global Studies (CGS) at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, Connecticut, recently participated in their first classroom session with the Communication University of China. This free online training course is designed to help students enhance their Chinese language skills, with a focus on improving pronunciation and speaking abilities.

The program is adapted from the Communication University of China’s specialized courses for television broadcasters, aimed at helping students refine their speaking skills and prepare for more advanced language learning. By participating in this initiative, CGS students are building cultural bridges between American and Chinese schools, fostering mutual understanding through language and communication.

CGS students will engage in three training sessions before the end of 2024. Looking ahead, SPIRAL International plans to expand these opportunities, creating more specialized training programs for American schools to connect with their international counterparts.
