Educators from across the United States traveled to China for a Professional Development Tour this June with SPIRAL International President, Emily Guo. The 11-day trip included sight-seeing and cultural learning opportunities in addition to educational exchange with local students, educators and administrators.
The group spent time visiting important cultural and historic landmarks in Beijing before traveling to Guiyang where they met with Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College and members of the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange.
Over the course of the 7 days that followed, educators met with teachers and students from different schools and participated in educational workshops learning about the ethnic and cultural traditions and arts of that region of China.
Professional Development Tours with SPIRAL International allow educators to further develop their teaching skills by learning about different international models of teaching, immersing themselves in cultural exchange, and experiencing discussion and comparison with local educators. In addition to the wonderful academic experiences offered on Professional Development Tours, participants also have the opportunity to explore the wonderful natural and historical landmarks in each region the tour stops in. Tours can be tailored to the needs of participants and their school district requirements for Professional Development opportunities.
