Service Learning Trip to China
This summer three high school and college students traveled to Guiyang, China to complete Summer Service Learning Trips with SPIRAL International. Students had the option to stay for a one- or two-month learning experience, sponsored by Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange. Students were paired with host families and had the opportunity to support English language instruction in area schools assisting Chinese English teachers.
Service Learning Trips provide an immersive experience for American students to practice their Chinese Language Skills. These valuable learning opportunities provide students with a way to give back to the community hosting them as part of their trip, providing in class support to new English language learners. Students learn instructional strategies and classroom management, in addition to deepening their understanding of Chinese culture.
In the summer months of 2025, SPIRAL International will also be designing Service Learning Trips to Guiyang for interested students aged 16 and up. If you are interested in learning more and finding a trip suited to your educational needs, please email Sydney at programs@spiralinternational.org or call 802-540-0305 to speak to a SPIRAL representative.
