The new SPIRAL Center for Chinese Learning promotes knowledge and understanding of Chinese language and culture through online classes, workshops, lectures and forums for young children, teens and adults.
The Center’s Chinese language classes HAVE FUN WITH CHINESE will begin with a pilot program of free online sessions over four consecutive Saturdays. These will be taught either one-on-one or in small groups of two to four students. Each student will receive a free book and the classes will be taught by Chinese native speaking teachers via Zoom.
The pilot class is designed for children ages 6-10 at the very beginning level. Through four 30-minute online classes, students will learn vocabulary about self and family members, and how to speak four to six sentences about themselves and their family while using the book Have Fun With Chinese. These pilot classes will start Saturday, May 23, and last for four consecutive Saturdays through June 13. Two possible time slots: 1) 9:00 am – 9:30 am, or 2) 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
